Chocolate Bark

Chocolate Bark

A little chocolate bark to celebrate the arrival of Spring and the oncoming Easter, but before that some good thoughts to ponder. This proverbial wisdom from Ireland was posted on our company channel as a morning thought and it stuck with me.

A good word never broke a tooth reminds us that it is not a herculean task to praise or rejoice. It is a virtue if you can let kindness survive in this era, though, it will not ever chip a tooth to let some positivity pass through your lips.

So, this Easter take the opportunity today to extend some gratitude or loving kindness towards another.  Positivity may not be coming your way at the moment, but you can generate some of it into the world with a ‘thank you’ or a ‘compliment’.  The little ones are on and off quarrelling about tiny baseless things at home. I have to remind them to be kind to each other, since kindness starts at home even before we talk about the world. This world is at a tricky juncture, where countries today are struggling to preserve their existence only to boost a certain egoistical maniac.

Easter Chocolate Bark

This absolute decadent chocolate bark made of swirly milk and dark chocolate is a show stopper and a crowd pleaser, topped with fresh berries, sugar confetti and mushy marshmallows.

  • 100 gm Milk Chocolate
  • 100 gm White Chocolate
  • 20 gm Marshmallows
  • 20 gm Sugar Flowers
  • 50 gm Fresh Berries (You could use freeze-dried berries for longer shelf life)
  1. Melt the milk and white chocolate in separate bowls suspended over pans of gently simmering water, stirring every now and then. Meanwhile, line a large baking tray with baking parchment. Leave the chocolate to cool for 10 mins.

  2. Pour the milk chocolate onto the tray and spread it into a rectangle, roughly 20 x 25cm. Drizzle over the white chocolate and create a swirled pattern by dragging a cocktail stick back and forth across the chocolate. Scatter over the marshmallows, berries and sugar confetti, then put it in the freezer to cool down.

  3. Break into shards or leave whole and serve it with a glass of milk to kids or sneak away for adults

I got some little ones to be busy and later on munching on this moorish bar with sheer glee. Whether it’s on the stoop experimenting with craft materials or on the lawn constructing with cardboard, it’s pretty amazing the activities you can do with kids.

This certainly made my day.
