One step on the grill and one step on the paraquat and whoosh you are on terrace.I can hear the slow rocking movement of grindstone grinding onion, garlic and ginger below me.I can our neighborhood girl standing tall on the terrace with her grandpa holding her firm.Who cares if I don’t have one I always have my legs and guts to trust. The competition is too much to handle so with one brisk turn and one missed step I landed on the grindstone below rather than on the terrace. It was all dramatized post that my poor mother stood like a lamb sobbing unable to fathom the childhood energy and daring.I got 12 stitches on my chin….alas that was the childhood I had.
Hello friends by now I am sure you would have known my happening childhood by now.I still have long anecdotes to tell its not a small feat to boast of 36 stitches on your entire body. But I will save some for the other posts.
Why do I write this, cause it saddens me to the core when I see the empty swings in the park while I shoot my still life photography.I am getting too burdened with the gadget overflow.Childhood has lost its charm.I am sure the world is a much safer place for kids (mark my sarcasm) cause they don’t get any bruises while playing on the tarred roads or grassy lawns. They play with angry birds and make their ways through subway surfers and increase their speeds with temple run….its all in a child’s play these days.
You want to learn your rhymes you don’t need mummy to hum it to you while sleeping…you have mother goose club reciting it for you on youtube with costumes and dance.Nowadays where will the moms shake a jig where’s the time. You want to learn about fairy-tales well Disney has stocked up Cinderella,Snow white and the seven dwarfs and the most significant one Frozen on the shelves.
I didn’t use Lego blocks to build towers I used seven stones to stack them.(remember).I didn’t go to gymnastics to learn hurdle crossing I played hopscotch to learn hopping.I didn’t go to a tennis academy to learn my backslash I played badminton with my dad.
I am not worried about the games and its new nomenclature and variation but somewhere down the line our children are losing the human touch.More than six out of ten parents say they play with their children only occasionally, and one in six fathers say they do not know how to.A third of dads said they simply do not have time to commit to playing.Even if we make a mountain of electronic toys they will miss out on those life skills and also the difference of being just on your own as opposed to playing with other people.
Just spare a 30 minutes everyday with your kid.Lets play hide and seek let her count to 10 and you hide behind the closet make all the signs to know you are there let her look for you shot “Mummy where are you” and when she sees you and shouts “Caught you”…then that’s a game well-played! Its priceless.
Today I am doing this recipe for a friend who is very caring mother and wants her child to have more healthy food rather than the junk food.Hope I do justice to her as I stirred up my favorite coffee place snack Finger millet triple chocolate muffin which is completely gluten-free. Don’t forget your night-time brush kiddo…or else you will land up like me.Read The sweet tooth.

Hi Roy. Superb write up, I ll let u know about the recipe once I try it! 🙂 yes I agree that kids today don’t know how to play a game of hopscotch, nine tiles or gully cricket. It worries me that they are self absorbed, and vain (selfies!!!) . I would suggest that to get out of this circle parents need to encourage sport ….that’s what I did and believe me the effort is worth it. Carry on ur superb blog, great pics and I am sure to try your muffins. Love…khush
Hi Khushnam,
Thank you for the kind words. I certainly believe in giving children the power to run, climb, pretend play and imagination.I also believe its avery personal thing and I do not get them to social media limelight. I can see an avid baker in you too. Loved the range of products which are not conventional on your blog. Keep up the good work. I shall keep you posted.I couldn’t find your personal introduction. Where could I find it.
Best Regards,
Roy
